SunLine Transit Agency to Host Free DBE Workshop

Oct 13, 2017
(Thousand Palms, CA – October 13, 2017)  Small Businesses and those looking to learn more in regards to becoming a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) as well as gaining information on different public agency contracting opportunities are invited to attend SunLine Transit Agency’s FREE workshop on Wednesday, October 18th from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at SunLine’s Headquarters in Thousand Palms.

The workshop aims to educate businesses about the DBE program, including provisions and eligibility requirements.   Businesses will also obtain information from local cities and the county on how to do business with them and obtain RFQ/IFB/RFP notices for the products and services their company provides.  This event will also provide primes and sub-contractors an opportunity to network with each other.

“We are making it a priority to educate businesses about bid selection and approval in an attempt to make the process transparent and give DBE’s an opportunity to compete,” said Lauren Skiver, CEO/General Manager for SunLine Transit Agency.

The program ensures that qualified businesses have an equal opportunity to compete for, and participate in, the performance of all DOT-funded contracts and subcontracts. It also assures that all contracts and procurements will be administered without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex or national origin.

Please RSVP your intention to attend to bnava@sunline.org  or call (760) 343-3456 ext. 1628 by October 17th.
