Theme: “Your Sustainable Ride to the Future”

(Thousand Palms) – SunLine Transit Agency has kicked off its 8th Annual Student Art Contest, and this year’s theme is “Your Sustainable Ride to the Future.” The deadline to enter is Friday June 30, 2023.

Students who attend Coachella Valley schools or are home-schooled locally, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, can submit their custom artwork showcasing their vision for what a sustainable ride to the future means to them. Contest artwork should focus on the benefits of clean, sustainable energy and the public transit system.

First-place winners will be selected from each grade category. The artwork of the first-place winners will be displayed on SunLine’s state-of-the-art hydrogen fuel cell electric buses. The artwork of second and third place ‘honorable mentions’ will be displayed at local bus shelters near their respective schools.

“We are so pleased to offer this rewarding program for local students once again, which is made possible by our dedicated sponsors – City of La Quinta, City of Palm Desert, FirstBank and Inland Empire Health Plan,” said Glenn Miller, Board Chair of SunLine Transit Agency.

All submissions should be uploaded as artwork images @SunLine.org/StudentArt no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023. All students MUST keep their artwork submission until the results have been announced. Then, finalists will be asked to drop-off or mail their artwork to
