SunLine has a long history of creating programs that enable the youth of Coachella Valley to learn, create and travel throughout the Coachella Valley. To make it easier to access the wide range of Youth services and programs provided by SunLine, please see the list provided:
Haul Pass
Elgiblity: Coachella Valley high school students
The Haul Pass program expands to include all high school students in grades 9th – 12th, beginning on August 1, 2021. To apply for the Haul Pass program as a high school student, please fill out the Haul Pass Application form.
Once your application is received and processed, you will get a notice in July with step by step instructions on how to access your fare using a smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, you can still participate in the program by clicking "I do not have a smartphone and need a paper ticket" on the application.

Youth Sustainability Committee
Eligibility: Coachella Valley high school students (Ages 13-18)
Sustainability committee members will lead SunLine in advancing healthy communities. Members will be expected to be committed to the purpose, have enthusiasm and will actively contribute with a spirit of collaboration. Youth Sustainability Committee members will contribute to the implementation of initiatives and policies related to a variety of topics including:
Meeting on a quarterly basis, this committee will impact and influence the Coachella Valley region by identifying ways to include local youth in decision making on sustainability related matters.
Youth Sustainability Committee members will be appointed by the SunLine Board of Directors with one student appointed per city and one appointed to represent the unincorporated communities. Members will be selected through a written application process. Apply using the application linked below.
Student Art Contest
Deadline to apply: June 28, 2021
Elgiblity: Coachella Valley school students (K-12th grade)
As a leader in alternative fuel solutions, SunLine’s buses are all environmentally friendly. Our 6th Annual Art Contest is a way for our local youth to learn more about the advantages of clean energy and the public transit system. Enter a design for a chance to have your artwork on the side of a zero emission bus. Please read the checklist for contest rules for each grade level:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SUBMISSION:
• Submission: Upload artwork images at www.SunLine.org/studentart (see bottom of page)
• Keeping Artwork: All students MUST keep their artwork submission until the results have been announced. The finalists will be provided an envelope to mail their artwork to SunLine. This is a requirement to have your artwork placed on a bus or bus shelter.
