SunLine: Your Ride to the Future

Background

SunLine continues to evolve services in order to enhance the experience for riders, including streamlining its fixed route network, and introducing both a new regional line and on-demand rideshare (available in eight zones as of November 2023). As SunLine continues to adjust services while offering cutting-edge zero-emission technology and other clean energy initiatives, the theme continues: SunLine Transit Agency is Your Ride to the Future.

What to expect in January 2024

The changes to the fixed route network aim to provide a balance of frequency changes in multiple routes. All changes listed below are effective January 7, 2024.

Route 1WV

(Palm Desert via HWY 111 Palm Springs)

Frequency Changes to the Route 1WV

Route 1WV service will operate every 30 minutes all day, seven (7) days a week.

 

Route 1EV

(Coachella via HWY 111 Palm Desert)

Frequency Changes to the Route 1EV

Route 1EV service will operate every 30 minutes all day, seven (7) days a week. 

 

Route 2

Frequency Changes to the Route 2

Route 2 service will operate every 30 minutes all day, seven (7) days a week.

 

Route 3

Frequency Changes to the Route 3

Route 3 service will operate every 30 minutes all day, on weekdays.

On weekends it will continue to operate every 60 minutes.

 

Route 5

Minor Frequency Changes to the Route 5

Route 5 will have minor schedule adjustments and continue to operate on weekdays only.  

 

Route 6

Minor Frequency Changes to the Route 6

Route 6 will have minor schedule adjustments and continue to operate on weekdays only.

 

Route 7

Frequency Changes to the Route 7

Route 7 service will operate every 45 minutes on weekdays.

On weekends it will continue to operate every 90 minutes.

 

SunRide

La Quinta Zone

SunLine’s on-demand rideshare service that is booked using an app, as of November 2023, is now offered in a total of eight (8) zones. The newest geo-fence is in the city of La Quinta. The maps for all eight (8) SunRide zones can be found on our SunRide page.
